I never tested this case, but i don't know why it can be different, because
information are taken by the same interface.

I don't said to use KDE desktop. Mageia is multi desktop solution. You can
use KDE application with Gnome.

The most important is the integration and the support of KDE technologies
for all desktop. I know that Fedora don't care about KDE. As digiKam use
some important KDE engine in background, this point is very important.

When i talk about KDE engine, i want said some KDE components which are not
GUI related... In fact it's KDELibs.

I'm not a Unix Guru, and i don't want to it. I want easy want to manage
desktop. Of course, i know the power of command line like alternative, but
computer are dedicated to be simple to use (in this way, OSX is really
good). Mageia is so far more simple to use and configure than Fedora...

Mageia is French Linux based distro. Same point here...
