For ever. Or as near to that as possible.

Disk space is cheap. I do not delete any original files. Ever.

Disk space is cheap. Use a HDD, or three. You can get caddies that can 
take bare drives. Have at least two copies in addition to the originals 
and keep one copy at a remote location.
