When trying to import photos (Import -> Add Images -> Select All ->
Download Selected) from /home/hardy/shalom on a clean ~/Pictures I got
this error:
"""
Window with title "Images found in /home/hardy/shalom - digiKam" is
not responding. This window belongs to application digikam (PID=11603,
hostname=localhost).
Do you wish to terminate this application? (All unsaved data in this
application will be lost.)
"""
There was nothing unusual in the terminal output, just the list of
files and some info about them. After about two minutes (the time it
took me to write this) the dialog box disappeared and this was written
to the terminal:

digikam(11603): couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave:
klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'digikamalbums'.
"
digikam(11603): Failed to list url: "Could not start process Unable
to create io-slave:
klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'digikamalbums'.
."

Digikam does not have the new files in it. In other words, it is as if
I performed no import.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
