<br>
</div>I found the reason!<br>
<br>
If one saves a JPG to PGF, the size is small, i.e. ~100kb for a 10 MPx image.<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>JPG = > 8 bits / color /pixel image !</div><div> </div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex;">
<br>
However if one demosaics a RAW picture, crops it to only 2 MPx and saves it as<br>
lossy low quality PGF it still has 1,5 MB, i.e. 15 times as big as saving from<br>
JPG although it only has 1/5 of the size.<br>
<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div><div>RAW = > 16 bits / color /pixel image !</div></div><div><br></div><div> </div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex;">
Is this a bug?<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>no. It's normal. Try this :</div><div><br></div><div>load JPEG in editor and save it as PGF. Look size.</div><div>reload JPEG in editor and switch color depth to 16 bits (Colors Menu). Now save it as PGF. Lokk size...</div>
