Hi everybody,

I would like to improve the way the central map is accessed, because I don't really think that the way it is now it's the best. What I don't know is how to make the best switch between icon-view, preview-view and map-view.
Now, as you know, there are 2 ways to access the central map. One is "View->Views->Map" view and the other one is the toolmenu "Views->Map view". The options are:
- Add preview-view to "Views" menu. If you think that this is the best option, please answer me to next questions:
* What should happen when one clicks a thumbnail in icon-view? The view should still switch to preview-view?
* As you may have seen, when the map is zoomed out, it groups the images and selects "the best" of them as representative thumbnails for their groups. I was thinking with Michael that when a user clicks a thumbnail on the map, to be replaced with the next "best" thumbnail from that group. Another option would be that when a user clicks on a thumbnail, to switch to preview mode. What do you think?

- Leave the switch between icon-view and preview-view as it is now and make the switch to map view to be a checkable tool button. When the button is checked, the map-view appears. When it is unchecked, the last view activates. This looks more clean and intuitive to me, because when the user will want to see photos on central map, he will just click that button. When he will want to go back to icon-view/preview-view he will uncheck it.

What kind of switch do you think that it is the best? If you have more proposals, please let me know.

Gabriel
