Hi,
The added functionality surely improves the way user can use Flickr export as user can use his host application's functionality to select the photos he wants to upload, but some additions would make it a perfect peice.

It would be great if some one can improve the Digikam, kipi interface to allow use of Tags stored in Digikam database with photos to be used in exporting to Flickr. Froms some comments on internet I understand that this is the major feature which makes ppl use F-Spot, bcoz you can use the local tags on image when exporting to flickr.

I am finding it hard to actually do the code/patch myself, B'coz its more of learning the interfacing stuff which will take time, those who have actually learnt the interface or worked on it can do it much more easily, faster and in a better way.

My Idea on it is KIPI::ImageInfo can have some function called getTags() which will return tags (String with space separated values or a string List) if the host applications has set them otherwise it will return NULL or something like that.

This change(addition) in the interface needs approval from the KIPI developers (I don't know much about binary compatibility issue which was last time discussed when I asked for some change in the KIPI File Open/Choose Dialog).

I would look fwd for comments on the same. Probably some other changes in the interface which were kept pending for long time can also be introduced now.

BTW what is the Release period of the KIPI-plugins ? AFAIK the release cycle is not in sync with Digikam or any other product and in fact the release almost never happen. If we can ensure the release date matches with Release of Digikam and Digikam Image plugins hopefully we will have a much more scheduled update of Kipi-plugins. Again ur opinions are solicited.
