[Decibel] Decibel status, code, etc.

Hi,

I've read about the status update to Decibel in the KDE commit digest. I
appreciate the new information. I still have a ton of questions about the
project, its goals, and want to know a bit more about the status of it
though. :)

1. Why do we need Qt 4 bindings to the telepathy spec (via tapioca's
implementation) rather than just implementing it ourselves?

2. What does tapioca provide considering the fact that it's Qt 4 bindings are
defunct?

3. Can we please start seeing more discussion take place in the open? We have
the decibel mailing list here and there are other people that stand to be
hugely affected by decibel and what it does and doesn't do and we'd like to
be given the chance to voice our opinions, provide input, and above all, help
out with the project, so that it meets our needs in addition to yours.

4. Will the code actually be developed in the open? If not, why? Do you have
code currently? Can it be imported into KDE's subversion repository?

5. What is Houston and why is it special wrt to platform independence, etc?

Thanks for taking the time out your busy schedule to answer my questions.
