Hello Roger!

Sorry for the delay in answering this message, I managed to loose it in my
inbox:-(

The good news is that we are still working on Decibel. I took the project over
from Stefan a while back, which is why I am answering your mail.

The bad news is that all of us have been busy with other projects during the
last couple of month, so very little has happened in the meantime. I did a
lot of reading up on specs and docs about the technologies since being
assigned to the project, had some discussions with the telepathy and tapioca
people and started to actually write some code yesterday:-)

It is planned to update the website next week, but I have been postponing that
for ages now. I managed to get a slot to do a presentation about decibel at
aKademy in Dublin (sept. 23rd - 30th) and want something to show by then...
which is one reason to not update the website but write some code instead;-)

For the moment I work on encapsulating the Connection Managers behind an
interface that does preference handling (Which CM should I use for which
protocol? etc.). Then I wnat to continue with Account handling (Which
accounts do I own? Which settings apply to which account? etc.) and then head
on to building connections to services based on that data.

A problem that I ran into yesterday is that the Qt4 bindings to the telepathy
(== tapioca) dbus interfaces are incomplete and outdated. They basically must
be rewritten:-( You do not happen to be an expert in that area?

Best Regards,

PS: Would you mind me sending this message to the decibel ML? I should
definitly send some update there... well, maybe I should write up something
more consistent for that larger (if it is larger;-) audience.
