We discussed the Qt5 port at the sprint. Some notes are here:

http://lists.kde.org/?l=calligra-devel&m=140480621024543&w=2

The previous port was done for the Jolla Sailfish port of Calligra. It's
based on a copy of an outdated version of frameworks 5, and it's never
been kept up to date with master. Jolla decided they didn't need
maintenance, so they didn't get it...

So the port should be started anew, though the first port did teach us a
bunch of things we should remember, especially when it comes to plugin
loading. But even there, master changed to no longer need syscoca anyway
since then.

We should start the port only after 2.9 has become stable, with all the
changes like KUrl->QUrl, it will otherwise be impossible to synchronize
all the bug fixes.

As for the port itself, the original proposal was to:

1. run all the porting scripts that laurent montel and others have
created, making sure that all of calligra actually compiles.
2. disable all the application (https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/121541/
is a good start!)
3. let the individual maintainers re-enable the bits they are working on,
as and when they get down to porting.

Porting shouldn't take more than a month or two, so we should be done in
March, if we start after 2.9 is released. Whatever hasn't been ported by
then is dead.
