Ok so I am in the same boat. I am actually trying to do it on vista though. I got some stuff to compile on XP, but since Vista came my way (legally free) im using it.  How far have you gotten it to build, lets share some details..

me know :) What gcc to use etc.. PS: i know my way around the code, so i probably could fix what-ever small issues you have on windows, but i need some kind of a starting point to get atleast some kind of a build env up.
