can Amarok 2 control MPD?

Or.... is there any plugins can do that job in the future?  'Cause i know
even firefox can use a plugin (which named 'Minion') to control MPD.  And
that plugin's size just less than 500 KB.

'Cause i really love both of them.   Amarok & MPD.
