Storing my collection externally

Hello,

I have my music collection stored on an external drive and would like to
also put the database aspect of the collection on that drive, to be able
travel from system to system with my music and metadata. Is this
possible? What would be the prefered way to do this? What files should I
move to the external drive and link to from my homedir? Btw, is there a
problem with several Amarok clients access an SQLite file at the same
time?
