Amarok Splash Screen

Hello, i love amarok and a got a suggestion for you.

i was trying to load a PNG image, because i would like to see a transparent
image at the begging of my amarok on Kubuntu.
When i tried to lie to the system and change the image's name for
splash_screen.jpg, being this one a PNG for real, the system showed me the
image with an ugly black and white picture on its back :(

What could i do?
