</div>I'm thinking an acceptable compromise might be to run it only if no<br>
ID3v2 tag is detected, and tell users that if they have ID3v2 tags they<br>
need to make them sane, which means using Unicode (UTF-16 for ID3v2.3 or<br>
UTF-8 for ID3v2.4).<br>
