Not fixed, but both thomas and nanno have posted patches to the ML
that fix it. However, they are both quite invasive and touch a lot of
code.

I recommend we leave this bug in 2.3.0, then agree on which patch to
integrate and do more testing for 2.3.1. THere's a high chance of
regressions  I think it would be better to avoid.
