But on a more serious note, no one needs to switch given how it's 
implemented.
For most users they just install amarok, none the wiser about the db. 
For those who use a database server, the embedded mysql relieves the 
need for configuring another. For those who want a full server, they get 
mysqld.
If this is an argument about not wanting to install software to preserve 
the purity of a system; I hear the National Socialist party is looking 
for a few good men again.
